Music Venues in Plymouth

Music Venues in Plymouth

Plymouth has it all when it comes to concert venues: small and sweaty dives and roomy concert arenas. As a result, Plymouth has the capacity to host bands of all fames and sizes, ensuring that it has the best music scene in Devon. Here are a few venues to tick off your list!

Plymouth Pavilions has a 4000-person capacity, so is one of the south-west’s premier concert venues. The Pavilions never fails to draw an audience, especially since the prospect of large crowds makes it a very attractive venue for established acts. The likes of Radiohead, Muse, Arctic Monkeys and Oasis have rocked audiences on its stage. The arena has often offered local bands the opportunity to support their own heroes, so if you’re an up and coming band in the Plymouth area, it might be worth familiarising yourself with it!

White Rabbit - don’t let the cute name of this venue lull you into a false sense of security; this venue hosts the craziest gigs with the rowdiest crowds in Plymouth! The venue has a reputation for providing a platform for hard-core, punk and metal bands, as well as drum and bass acts, with Gallows, Enter Shikari, High Contrast and Chase and Status having previously graced its stage. As a smaller venue, White Rabbit is open to local bands playing, so check out its Facebook if that could be you!

Plymouth SU continues to contribute to Plymouth’s vibrant music scene with its 1400 capacity music venue, which has been rocking since 1992. The prospect of playing to a bunch of rowdy uni’ students is an opportunity that no self-respecting rabble of rockers can turn down, ensuring that Plymouth SU consistently rakes in decent bands. Previous headliners include Frank Turner, Reel Big Fish and Pendulum, with Rusko and Netsky scheduled to play in the near future. With such exciting acts destined to play in the near future, you’d better get your tickets quick!
